Mulch Mulch Mulch -
5 yards of the stuff was added around the house with stone borders

Nancy stopped in a gave us a hand on Saturday.

The old boat  was cleaned up a bit.

Front deck and bench was pressure washed and re-stained.
 

3-8-08

Tile floors are finished and so is the bathroom.  We are ready for opening!

3-1-08

Tiled and repainted guest hallway.  Tile will be grouted next week.

Bathroom shower installed minus soap dish & shelf.

Vanity and sink were placed into position, pluming not installed

Backer board floor was added  to sub-floor


Tile was added to bathroom floor.

Bathroom walls were primed and hallway was painted.

A second new A/C and Heater has been installed.

This is another one of my composition photos, about 9 photos warped into one. 
The photo's are twisted and pieced together but it shows what we are up to. 
The end result will be a large shower with a seat and glass doors.  This weekend
we were able to run the water lines & pressure test them for leaks, connect in the
drains and put up the greenboard.

Purple & Yellow rooms floored, trimmed and with furniture.

Yellow room has been repainted from floor to ceiling, It's very bright and tough for the camera to get a true picture.
Chris is sealing the sliding door threshold.

Purple room has been repainted from floor to ceiling, Purple color was brightened a shade or two

Floor trim is being painted for the Yellow and Purple rooms. 
Next weekend will be all about the bedroom flooring

Finally got around to adding some of the trim in the kitchen. 

1-5-08

Yellow room's carpet and wood trim were removed, walls and ceiling cleaned and sanded

Purple room's carpet and wood trim were removed, walls and ceiling cleaned and sanded.  Chris pulled up all those little staples....

We pulled up the blue vinyl floor and found a brown vinyl floor.

We pulled up the brown floor and found a clean sub floor in good shape.

We cut up the old tub and tossed it in the dumpster, removed old flooring.

Did anyone notice that the bathroom door was only 24 inches wide?  We will enlarge it to 30 inches.

We took down the fence between MGH and our neighbor Jim.

Chris is cutting up the oak fence for fire wood

Another dumpster starting to fill up.

 Hummm, That bathroom doorway looks wider!


Added new 5/8" floor over the existing 5/8". 

We think the A/C unit is leaking condensate on to the hall and bathroom floors.  We are having this checked this week.
[It was confirmed that the inside A/C blower unit need to be replaced due to leaking.  That will happen within the month.]

Front deck - new fence and railings

We added a new Ceiling fan in the living room and continue to work on the front fencing. 

We had to cut an opening into the second floor A/C unit so we could pull a wire from the ceiling fan to the breaker box. 
We've made this into an access door incase of future A/C repairs.

Ted making minor trim adjustments

Fence and gate nearing completion.  Gate was moved forward to give more room for the pool.

 

New kitchen furniture arrived - seating for 8 around the table, 5 around the bar.

Kitchen steps and railing completed, deck speaker relocated,.

Kitchen steps and landing are being build wider since people like to site on them.

Front fence is being replaced with a vinyl composite decking material and treated lumber rapped in aluminum.

This is Ted's "Big Root" it had to be removed to run a 2 inch conduit pipe which will contain both deck power and speaker wires.

Remember those lose steps and the water valve in the middle of the deck?  They're both gone.

We had to dig around 4 feet down to remove the valve and stem, finally moving it outside the fence.
